Position – Simulation Engineer – Hitachi Astemo Brake Systems

Job description
Company Overview: Hitachi Astemo Brake Systems, subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd, is involved in development, manufacture, sales and services of automotive components, transportation related components, industrial machines and systems, etc.
Job Purpose: Responsible for simulation activities (based on Finite-Element Analyses) on brake systems. Lead technical interface in the project, internally and towards the customer and responsible of product definition.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead technical activities
- Simulation activities of all types to support application projects.
- Improve existing simulation methods & tools and alignment with other region to get better accuracy & co-relation.
- Set-up simulation standards and guidelines.
- Manage one or several mechanical product solutions in an application project (or acquisition) on spec, on time and on cost
- Coordinate and plan technical activities (internally and with the customer) in alignment with the project
- Support and coordination of overall product validation (Performance on bench, NVH and vehicle tests)
- Authorize delivery of samples to customer
- Represent internally the customer towards plant, suppliers and other stakeholders
- Alert in case of deviation according to internal rules
2. Ensure technical activities are driven according to internal standards
- In charge of the technical definition according to customer requirements and internal design rules
- Lead the design reviews internally and participate to review with suppliers when necessary
3. Documentation and continuous improvement
- Ensure project technical documentation and other project related documents
- Contribute to product continuous improvement through lessons learnt
Requirements:
1. Key Professional Competencies
- Excellent theoretical knowledges in the field of mechanical engineering and especially stress/strain analyses, mechanical vibrations, non-linear analyses, thermomechanical analyses
- Overall good product and system knowledge (Preference – Brakes industry)
- Good overview of development and validation process
- Good overview of CAD/PLM tool – team center, 3D-Experience, CATIA/UG/Ideas
- DFMEA, Design Review, DFM/DFA Reviews, Tolerance Stack-up & Design Calculations

Qualification/Experience
- Bachelors or Masters in Mechanical Engineering
- 3-5 years
