Position: TM/Line Incharge – Engine Assembly

Role Overview:

As the Team Manager/Line Incharge for Engine Assembly, you will oversee the shift production for the engine assembly unit at Hero MotoCorp. Reporting to the Section Head of Engine Assembly, your primary objective will be to ensure the daily production targets are met, with an optimal use of resources. You will also be responsible for maintaining the documentation, conducting audits, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives in the assembly line.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Management: Handle the shift production for the Engine Assembly and ensure daily production targets are met as per customer requirements.
  • Documentation: Prepare and maintain all documentation related to Daily Work Management (DWM), including CLRI, process sheets, inspection sheets, and machine check sheets.
  • Manpower Management: Arrange and manage manpower based on the working pattern to ensure smooth production.
  • Rejection Analysis: Perform daily rejection analysis and apply countermeasures using SDCA & PDCA methodologies.
  • Process Efficiency: Monitor and improve production measures such as PQCDSM (Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Morale).
  • Line Efficiency & OEE: Calculate and improve line efficiency and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities on the shop floor and lead Kaizen initiatives.
  • Line Balancing: Ensure the production line is balanced according to Just-in-Time (JIT) principles.
  • 5S Implementation: Ensure the 5S methodology (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) is followed and work areas are continuously improved.
  • Cost Monitoring: Monitor manufacturing variable costs and perform tool cost analysis.
  • Audits: Conduct shop floor management audits and submit action plans for identified gaps.

Qualifications:

  • Education: B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience:
  • Knowledge of assembly operations, particularly in engine assembly.
  • Hands-on experience with operations such as pull press, bearing press, washing machines, torqueing tools, and sealant application.

Technical Skills:

  • Practitioner-level expertise in 5S, TPM, and IMS execution.
  • Proficiency with problem-solving tools like 7 QC tools.
  • Basic understanding of JIT methodology.
  • Knowledge of SAP PP Module.
