Position – Engineer/Senior Engineer – Measurement Point System (MPS)

Responsibilities :

  • Learn GM Global MPS Standards for Measurement point generation.
  • Analyze the input required for a project
  • Develop points for Match check, CMM, Vision, and FVML/DTS process as per standardized process using Tool Unigraphics & Team Center.
  • Perform Quality check of completed files
  • Complete required deliverables & ship to respective GM plants.
  • Support the plant with the EWO change requests
  • Flawless communication within the team for project support & updates
  • Generate Improvement ideas for supporting the organization’s productivity

Position – Lead Engineer – GA Simulation

Job Description

General Assembly – Virtual Simulation:

  • Validate new products through a virtual dynamic simulation method for meeting GM’s manufacturing requirements for General Assembly load cases.
  • Evaluate manufacturing tools design and the interface between tool and product designs using virtual simulation analysis.
  • Explore new applications in Virtual Simulation work scope
  • Identify areas for improvement/optimization for a product, process, and tooling designs and provide simulation analysis reports to the MEs, CMEs, and TIEs outlining issues and solutions
  • Conduct review meetings with CMEs, Arch Leads & other stakeholders to analyze results.
  • Work with teams across the globe to determine the impact of new/existing requirements as applicable to dynamic studies.

Virtual Builds:

  • Understand GM Global Bill of Process (BOP) for products & conduct virtual builds at different stages along with the Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP)
  • Develop and maintain detailed virtual build sequences for various plants and programs
  • Conduct virtual build events and review manufacturing build sequence proposals and related issues with product, manufacturing, and plant personnel.
  • Partner with global teams including product design group to complete the deliverables for virtual builds.

General Abilities:

  • Passionate to work in a team and at times provide direction/guidance to other team members
  • Provide technical assistance for manufacturing engineering personnel
  • Good understanding of Virtual Simulation software and participate in testing and validation of these modules with domain experts during new updates/versions’ implementation.
  • Ability to think and explore opportunities to improve the current process/new ways of doing things. Then validate and implement new process concepts and associated workflows by involving all stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage product data required to perform simulations and virtual builds. Support database related issues and queries from the Virtual Engineering as well as other end users of Virtual Eng data
  • Ability to develop and document standardized work processes within the Virtual Engineering team and support creation and update training documents.
  • Explore innovative technologies to improve the current “state of the art” with new technology options in the Virtual Simulation work span.
