Job Overview:

The supply chain analytics group is responsible for delivering the solutions and developing the capabilities which enable better decision-making in the supply chain. This team works closely with all supply chain functions (i.e. plan, source, make, deliver, and customer service teams), business units, and other cross-functional partners for developing solutions to drive business value. 

This team also drives step-change innovation and improvements in business practices by delivering actionable insights through advanced analytics and supply chain expertise.

Responsibilities require the incumbent to possess technical expertise skills to provide engineering analytics consulting to a centralized virtual team as an individual contributor by leveraging data from Manufacturing Execution System, CMM System, and ERP systems which will help to improve plant productivity and optimize manufacturing costs by developing process improvement and reliability engineering solutions. This team caters to engineering requirements for all food manufacturing plants (50+) worldwide.

Responsibilities:

10%of TimeBusiness Results:–          Provide support to implement, and communicate productivity improvement initiatives corporate-wide. .-          Brainstorm with stakeholders on defining the most appropriate technical solution and approach to deliver the solution optimally-          Provide analytical support for the evolution of reliability-centered maintenance, which will lead to productivity improvement and a reduced maintenance cost/case.-          Understand and leverage reliability metrics, system planning and cost-tracking systems
40%of TimeReliability Engineering and Analytics:–          Support in developing statistical models leveraging the data from Manufacturing Execution Systems, SAP, MAXIMO, etc so as to identify insights, trends, etc.-          Understand and leverage reliability metrics, system planning, and cost tracking systems-          Collaborate with virtual plant and corporate engineering teams for diagnosis, solution design and creating recommendation report-          Participate in developing solutions in reliability modeling- failure analysis, reliability growth analysis, reliability prediction analysis, etc- leveraging technical skills from statistical modeling-          Working on developing optimization models in the field of Demand Planning, Production Scheduling, Transportation, Inventory management, etc. based on various statistical and mathematical models as  cross-functional activities
40%of TimeData Management and Programming:–       Support in data mining activities-       Data cleaning from different systems/ Data sources (SAP BW, Oracle or Access, Maximo, etc )-       Data formatting and warehousing – Structuring/ Mapping different data sets-       Leveraging VBA/MS Access/SQL for Automation/Streamlining Reports/Dashboards. –       Learn data management technologies like – HADOOP, Spark, etc.-       Working and execution level knowledge in R, Python, Shiny, etc.
10%of TimeOperations Management:–          Successful: Demonstrate success through margin savings or additional revenue generation as well as a commitment to quality and timeliness-          Transparent: Provide ongoing visibility to all stakeholders leveraging process, technology, and communication tools-          Document all the processes and solutions 
Minimum Degree Requirements:   Bachelors
Preferred Degree Requirements:   Masters
Preferred Major Area of Study:–      B. Tech and M. Tech in Mechanical/ Electronics /Instrumentation/ Reliability Engineering/Computer Science/ Operation Research, preferably from reputed Institute/university-      B. Tech in Mechanical/ Electronics/Instrumentation and M. Tech in Reliability Engineering from a reputed university-       MSC in Statistics/Mathematics from a reputed university

Minimum years of related experience required:0-2 years
Preferred years of related experience:2-3 years

Specific Job Experience or Skills Needed:

Additional Information:

  • This position reports to the Engineering Management group with the Supply Chain Division at GBS India. Hours of operation are 11 AM to 8 PM Mumbai time (Monday to Friday) with the ability to flex hours as the job demands
  • In performing these accountabilities, the incumbent must develop and maintain an effective working relationship with General Mills International employees at all levels across the company locations
  • The Job involves travel to worldwide plants on a short-term basis depending on business requirements.
