Associate Quality Engineer

Your responsibilities and tasks:
1) Inspection and Testing:
- Conduct pre-dispatch dimensional and visual inspections of parts especially Mechanical Engineering parts ( such as castings, machined parts, valves etc)
- Perform various tests using appropriate measuring tools and equipment to verify compliance with specifications.
- Identify and document any non-conformances or defects.
- Analyze inspection and test results to determine root causes and corrective actions.
2) Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, audits, and non-conformances.
- Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, internal teams, and management regarding quality issues.
- Regular formal reporting on vendor quality performance to all concerned GEA team members .
- Follow internal operational procedures and maintain relevant fields and parameters in the ERP system.
3) Supplier Audits:
- Conduct on-site audits of supplier facilities to assess their quality management systems & production processes.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities and identify potential risks.
- Work with suppliers to implement corrective action plans and improve their quality performance.
4) Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improvement in supplier processes and quality systems.
- Work with suppliers to implement process improvements and enhance product quality.
- Promote the use of quality tools and methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
Your profile and qualifications:
DME (Diploma in Mechanical Engg.) – 3 to 5 years of experience in supplier quality management or a similar role.
Professional Competencies:
- Good knowledge of Metrology & Measurement devices.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Experience with quality tools and methodologies (e.g., SPC, FMEA, PPAP).
Additional Skills:
- Certification as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar.
- Experience with Mechanical industries or manufacturing processes.
- Experience in interacting with foreign companies.
Personal competencies:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to travel to supplier locations as needed
- Good stretchability to work under pressure and under adverse situations
