Job Description Summary
Engineer – Mechanical Components will be responsible for basic & detail engineering activities for HVAC, Fire deduction and protection system (FDPS) and other bought-out equipment for execution of Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) and Clean Combustion projects.
Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Preparation & Review of the design specification for HVAC, Fire deduction and protection system, and other bought-out equipment
- Technical Evaluation of the vendor’s offer and Review of vendor drawings/documents during the post-contract stage.
- Technical support and coordination during fabrication, equipment inspection & erection stages.
- Accountable for Quality reviews, control & checking for deliverables under his/her responsibility on the project.
- Ensures compliance with Standards & Codes mentioned in the contract.
- Ensures One-Time Delivery, Right First Time, First Time Yield, and DMP for the projects being handled.
- Responsible to execute the activities within the project schedule/milestones and the budgeted man-hours.
- Assist Project Management in technical discussions with all stakeholders including Customers.
- Ensure standardization of specification, calculation templates, and development of the database.
- Assist the Discipline Head for the continuous improvement and deployment of working procedures, best practices and project feedback.
- Ensure implementation of Lessons Learned from previous projects
- Proactively follow up & do the input management to track and trace documents and material through the document management team, expediting team, and MTA system.
- Participate in design review and design freeze meetings and ensure the corrective actions defined by the design review are closed on time.
- Ensure a coordinated approach in all areas with the other engineering activities/disciplines.
- Support to the tender team as per requirement.
- Support to site team during erection and commissioning.
- Support to standardization/cost-out efforts.
- Support Automation and digitization
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering with an excellent academic track record
- Knowledge/experience of HVAC and FDPS system design
- Knowledge/experience of Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Minimum 3-5 years of basic & detailed engineering experience in Power, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Pollution Control or similar type of industries.
- Knowledge of International and Indian Standards related to Mechanical static & rotary equipment
- Demonstrate good interpersonal relationship skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Must be open to travel as per project requirement
Desired Characteristics
- Master’s degree from an accredited university or college
- Knowledge / Experience on Air Quality Control Systems like Electrostatic Precipitators, Fabric Filter, Flue Gas Desulfurization.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities
