Job Description Summary

The preliminary mechanical design engineer in Bangalore reports to the preliminary design leader and is in charge of early-stage mechanical architecture, design, and integration for the next-generation aviation engine.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop the engine architecture and cross-section, and design the engine component or module using manual calculations, design best practices, and prior knowledge.
  • Optimize the cross-section to achieve the propulsion system’s engine size, weight, performance, and cost goals.
  • Deliver the business’s essential KPIs, such as new engines’ weight, length, and component costs.
  • Represent results in the corresponding business-critical audit/review procedure.
  • Work with a multidisciplinary team to identify and minimize engine design risks and opportunities.
  • Develop fresh architecture ideas that will provide GE with a big competitive edge.
  • Utilize digital technologies to compare engineering data from legacy engines, such as engine diameter, weight, and cost.
  • By connecting with several communities, significantly increase your understanding of systems (System, Project, other engine disciplines, detail designer, Supply Chain, Sourcing)
  • Create methods for doing early component analysis based on the Design Practices and Design Process Template.
  • Inform peers and the program leader of outcomes, conclusions, and observations via papers that are clear and succinct (presentations, reports, memos, technical articles).
Required Qualifications
  • BE / BTech / ME / MTech in Mechanical Engineering with 2-3 years of experience in turbo-machines mechanical design
  • 2 years of experience with Unigraphics.
