Job description
In your designated geographic region, you will assist transition and supplier development initiatives as Garrett Advancing Motion’s point of contact within the supply base. In order to meet Garrett Advancing Motion’s quality requirements and manufacturing strategy, you will interact directly with suppliers. You will communicate with suppliers at all levels of management. Spend the majority of your time at supplier sites in support of various supplier monitoring activities.
Job responsibilities:
- Evaluate the Quality Systems of potential suppliers
- Examine processes to ensure they adhere to contractual and legal obligations.
- Keep an eye on the KPIs for supplier quality relating to supplier capabilities, trends, and related production improvement initiatives.
- Assess supplier capabilities using 6 Sigma techniques
- Provide training in Six Sigma, Manufacturing Process Control, variation reduction, and other approaches to your employees, suppliers, and contract workers.
- Work on difficult challenges that call for in-depth research of changeable aspects while analysing scenarios or data
- Possess a broad range of knowledge, utilise business objectives, internal and external relationships, and professional thoughts to find innovative solutions to complicated problems.
- dispense technical knowledge to evaluate possibilities and dangers
Skills and knowledge:
- degree in mechanical engineering or a related field and a lot of professional experience
- Technical background in the automotive or aerospace sectors, ideally with experience in foundries and casting component machining
- expertise with manufacturing facilities and production methods
- Lean Expert or Black Belt or prior Six Sigma expertise is a bonus
- Product and process auditing expertise, preferably based on VDA 6.3
- Understanding of quality tools and procedures such AIAG-APQP, PPAP, D&PFMEA, DOE, and IATF-16949…
- Ability to analyse problems logically and methodically (8D, 5Why, Cause/Effect Diagram)
- English proficiency in both written and spoken forms; knowledge of a second language is a bonus
