In France during the post-war boom, two brothers, Claude and Edmond Faure decide to launch their small timber transport company. At the same time, another entrepreneur, Jean-Marie Machet, is focusing on developing the family road transport business, of which he has just taken up the torch. The meeting between Mireille Machet and Claude Faure influenced the fate of the two families: their marriage was accompanied by close professional collaboration, which gave birth to the transport company “Faure & Machet” in 1967. March: Faure & Machet starts a strategic activity, warehousing. Only twenty years after its creation, the Group employs 300 people and has 38,000 m2 of storage space in France.
1990s: international boom
Very attentive to the needs of its customers, Faure & Machet invents new value-added services such as custom packaging, which facilitates the promotional operations of manufacturers and large distributors. At the start of the 1990s, the Group seized the opportunities offered by the opening of the Eastern European markets: it became a pioneer in international logistics in Russia and Central Europe.
