Position – New Program Quality Leader

Essential responsibilities and duties

The Program Quality Leader is a member of the Program Core Team. He/she has overall responsibility for the achievement of quality deliverables until the start of production. The main missions of the Program Quality Leader are as follows:

  • Coordinate the Program Quality function for local program between several departments or Product Lines :
    • ensure capitalization of lessons learnt from previous programs
    • ensure that best practices are shared within all regions about Program Management System (PMS) deliverables, Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), product quality issues, lessons learned, shop-floor solutions, Bought Part issues with potential impacts on the customer, etc…
    • Arbitrate issues about Design Validation Plan and specifications for Measurement devices
    • support Advanced Supplier Quality Function activities with local supplier when there is a quality issue affecting the customer
    • report regional (or Product Line) quality status to the Global Program Manager
    • mandatory deliverables in Program management needs to be tracked (i.e.Quality Target Study etc..) & report to the Manager
  • Represents the Customer Voice within the company and ensure leadership when needed with the customer and internally with the others functions on quality matters.
  • Focus on specific critical items managed by other Program Core Team functions in order to ensure a successful launch and customer satisfaction throughout all regions :
  • Design validation Plan : Analyse consistency, and possibility to use tests results from other regions
  • Failure Mode Analysis s and Control Plan: Ensure alignment and best practice sharing
  • Appearance Approval: Ensure that the very first customer approval for appearance is available for all regions
  • Perceived Quality : Coordinate understanding about internal quality issues and customer complaints
  • Convergence Plans : Support convergence planning and ensure overall coordination and follow up
  • Process Robustness: Ensure alignment about Key Control Characteristics, Poka Yoke, Standard Work, Process Capabilities.
  • Risk Assessment: Manage the risk assessment process with a focus on Poka Yoke, Final Inspection and Temporary Quality Wall
  • Depending on the program’s complexity, ensure the PQL role for the lead region

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Minimum education level: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Preferred Mechanical.)
  • Language: English Fluent

Experience :

  • Minimum 5 to 6 years of proven experience in the Automotive industry.
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years in a Program Quality position with a complex program (high product diversity, several R&D centers, and Manufacturing sites)

Skills and competencies

  • Practitioner about Quality tools: Functional analysis, FMEA, Special Characteristics, reliability, problem-solving, variability reduction, etc

Position – Senior Design Engineer

Job description

Overall responsibilities and duties:

  • Responsible for the design of the parts of the respective zones w.r.t the project input by the Product Design Engineer /counterpart.
  • Follow the work description sent by the counterpart.
  • To have effective communication with Faurecia counterparts (Product Design Engineers) using appropriate tools ( Web ex tele conferencing, emails or presentations).
  • Estimate time required for completion of the assignment & plan for meeting the delivery date with the Product Design Engineer .
  • To be able to participate in design reviews.
  • Follow the systems and procedures of Faurecia. CMI, D Task, Checklist, RFT etc
  • Meet Faurecia expectations in terms of quality, cost and delivery of projects assigned.
  • Complete the assignment within the estimated time on or before the decided delivery date.
  • Ensure regular weekly timesheet punching and approval. In SAP
  • Anticipate the potential issues regarding assembly, tooling, design flaws, etc and intimate the. PDE
  • Be innovative and propose various design solutions.
  • To assign the work and mentor the Design Engineers
  • Ensure maximum usage of templates and macros.
  • To adhere and respect shift schedule and timings.
  • To plan leaves in advance with prior intimiation to Design and Development Team Leader and Product Design Engineer.
  • Respond to all training invitations and ensure 100% training attendance for all accepted trainings.
  • To uphold & abide by code of ethics & Management
  • To ensure folder structure and CAD data management
  • Ensure reguar design reviews with PDE and Team leader.
  • Ensure Product DMU / Kinematics creation and it Functions for Different Interior Design parts.
  • Able to create the swept voulme of kinematic in all position to ensure to minimum design gap.


The main missions of the role are:

  • Perform engineering assignments as part of design/ project team for various projects assigned, following and applying the systems and standards set by Faurecia & OEMs under the guidance of / Product Design Engineer.
  • Uses appropriate software to develop 3D models and drawings that meet engineering specifications.
  • Responsible for assigned zone / parts by PDE.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have/be:

Minimum education level: Minimum education level: Bachelors Degree / Diploma in mechanical/ automobile/ production/ polymer engineering.

Experience :

  • Plastic part design experience of minimum 3 – 4 years in CAD Softwares (CATIA / IDEAS / UG etc).
  • Automotive industry background
  • Prior plastic part design experience & tooling knowledge of minimum 3-4 years in relevant engineering domains (Interiors, Interior Mechanism, seatings, Seating Mechanisms, exteriors, acoustics etc).
  • Result-oriented team player with strong communication skills in English and or any other foreign language.

Skills and competencies

  • Thorough training/knowledge in program specific CAD software
  • Thorough experience in designing in required domain, i.e. interiors, interirors Mechanisms,.seatings, Seating Mechanism, exteriors, acoustics etc.
  • Good knowledge of CAD Methodology and best practices.
  • Problem solving techniques.

Qualification & Experience

5+ years of experience in Product design, product engineering and R&D. Experience in automotive interior/exterior with thermoplastics/composites domain preferred.

Description:

The Design Engineer is responsible for design of new or existing products, in line with planning, process, quality targets. He/she produces complete engineering designs translated in CAD models and creates all the associated documentation with in PDM systems.

Principle Accountability

  • Creation / Modifications of 3D models of thermoplastics/composites components of automotive interior/exterior using standard CAD software.
  • Strong in preparation of drawings with basic GD&T or as per references.
  • Knowledge of Composites Technologies, Thermoplastics/Thermoset Materials
  • Knowledge of Composites Manufacturing/Injection/Thermo-Plastic Processes.
  • Communicate with the customer on day-to-day activities.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering release and change documents (PDM)
  • Execute projects to meet the customer’s timeline and quality requirements.
  • Participate in GAP meetings and update information on GAP boards timely
  • Actively participate in employee involvement/Continuous Improvement activities /knowledge management initiatives.

Must have the following experience:

  • Experience with CAD tools – Catia V5, Siemens NX / Unigraphics
  • Experience in Composites, Thermoplastics/Thermoset Components Design
  • General Engineering knowledge, Automobile, the strength of the material, etc
  • Exposure to design and development environment.
