Job Title: Junior Design Engineer

Job Location: Bangalore

Job Summary:

The candidate is expected to be part of design and engineering activities. It consists of conceptualization, detailing, revisions, cross-functional discussions, etc. Primarily, the customer (Internal and External) expectations need to be understood clearly, and execute the design requirements quickly the right first time.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Possessing a High-level understanding of Metal Cutting with proper hands-on experience.
2. Design/ Engineering and development of cutting tools 3D Models. 2D Drawings, BoMs etc.
3. Understanding all the relevant standards/ practices and completion of design tasks.
4. Working with Plants/ Cross-functional teams for continuous development

Work Experience: 10 Months – 3 years

Preferred Areas of Education, Certifications, and Skills: BE/ B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering/ Allied courses OR 4 Years Diploma from GTTC/ NTTF/ CITD kind of Institutes.

Job Summary:

Entry-level position and works under the supervision of Senior/Lead Programmer. Works on simple programs like turning, Milling 3 axis & 5-axis using NX. Takes responsibility for checking his own programs against the checklist and provides regular feedback to the supervisor.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Modify existing Coolant Hole, Simple boring bar program using NX.
• Modify existing NX cam files without automation.
• Can interpret the checklist.
• Checks own programs against the checklist.
• Provides feedback to supervisor on insufficient data. (Before programming)

Education, Work Experience, Skills, Certificates

Work Experience: < 1 Year

Preferred Areas of Education, Certifications, and Skills: BE/ B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering

CAD Skills:

• Basic drawing reading, knowledge of NX modeling & drafting
• Modify existing Coolant Hole, Simple boring bar program using NX.
• Modify existing NX cam files without automation.
• Understand the application of modeling & NX template.
• Basics of NX for all locations as per documentation.
• Basic understanding of Vericut.

SAP/PLM:

• Basic navigation skills NWBC & ECTR.
• Can create NX documents.
• Link and delink NXC files to NXM and NXA.
• Work with ER using ECTR.
• Identify drawing PC status (Not Manufacture/Manufacture).

Machining Knowledge:

• Understanding of manufacturing operations and processes. (machining, forming, pressing, forging, extrusion, etc.)
• Knowledge of cutting tool operations (Turning, Milling, Drilling, grinding, Tapping, Reaming, Boring, etc.).
• Basic know-how of tool assembly (cutting tool and Adaptors).
• Understanding of ISO nomenclature for cutting tools.
• Fundamentals of Units and Units conversion.
• Knowledge of machine-level language (G code and M code).
• Basic knowledge of CNC machines

Engineering Knowledge:

• Basic Engineering mathematics.
• Fundamental calculations like force, speed, feed, moment, torque, and vibrations.
• Knowledge of Kinematics and Vectors.
• Understands the Merchant circle diagram.

Quality Management:

• Can interpret the checklist.
• Checks own programs against the checklist.
• Provides feedback to supervisor on insufficient data. (before programming)
• List out variations between design and data.
