What you’ll do:
Eaton is a diversified power management company providing energy-efficient solutions that help our customers effectively manage electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical power. The company is a global technology leader in Aerospace products for commercial and military use for performance, fuel economy, and safety; electrical products, systems, and services for power quality, distribution, control, and transmission. Eaton India Innovation Center (EIIC) has an opening for a ‘Lead Designer-Mechanical’ within the Aerospace FED Business. This position will be based in Pune, India.
The primary responsibility of this role is to perform design assignments of moderate complexity from sketches, layouts, and assemblies prepared by higher-skilled technical staff.
The key responsibilities include the following;
- Perform detailed design engineering using CAD platforms such as CATIA, Solidworks, Creo 7.0, AutoCAD, etc.
- Perform assignments of specific engineering tasks, e.g. a Create 2D Drawing, creating 3D models, preparing Specification
- Modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.
- Perform GD&T & Tolerance stake-up analysis for ITD product designs.
- Interact with global cross-functional teams.
- Create 3D models and 2D detailed drawings of the new product designs and modification of existing product drawings and models.
- The person in this position must have working knowledge of CAD tools, assembly, and detailing to prepare CAD models and complete detailed design/drawings.
- Utilize the PLM (Enovia / Windchill) system for documentation control and workflow.
- A person should have a good understanding of design guidelines standards such as ASME Y14.5 M standards
- A person should be good at drawings, dimensioning standards, tolerance standards & tolerance stack-up, and engineering calculations as required to support design integrity.
- Sustaining process for design standards and procedures governing product design methods, documents, and data control for the associated business group
- Utilize understanding of manufacturing processes to improve new and existing designs & act as a technical resource for internal/external customers and resolve technical challenges
- Maintain credible communication practice with stakeholders on technical clarifications, testing & resolving field failures
- Maintain effective communications both verbal & written with customers, team members, and cross-functional departments
- Be an active professional in continuous learning resulting enhancement in organizational objectives
- Performs quality self-checks to ensure the design meets Eaton and customer standards/requirements
- Ensure right quality and on-time delivery of drawings & engineering documents.
Qualifications:
Diploma in Mechanical/ Production or equivalent
Diploma degree – Min 0 – 2 years of total experience of product design, drawings and CAD modeling
Skills:
Required:
- 3D modeling and 2D drawings using CATIA software
- GD&T, Tolerance stack up,
- Project Documentation & knowledge of PLM
