This exciting role offers the opportunity to:
- The incumbent in this position is responsible for the successful execution of a wide range of Aerospace MEA – NTI projects and ensuring stakeholder and customer satisfaction.
- He/She should have preliminary experience in New Product Development / New Technology Introduction (NPD / NTI) programs preferably in the Aerospace industry.
- Working knowledge of overall design engineering processes encompassing “”Design – Qualification – Product Launch” of ‘Aerospace and/or Industrial Hydraulics Products’ is required.
- The products should be broadly classified under Hydro-Mechanical and electro-mechanical products viz.
- Hydraulic Pump products.
- He/She should be competent in managing customer requirements, concept design/selection, detail design and analysis & design validation – product testing, and qualification to enable decision making while executing the engineering work.
- He/she should have proficiency in mechanical design & drafting (CAD tools), GD&T & statistical tolerancing.
- He/She should have good communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written with an ability to make necessary status reports and technical presentations to Eaton management and global stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Requirement –
- Mtech / MS – Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, Aerospace, Automobile or Btech – Mechanical
- 1-2 Years (Mtech) or 4-5 years (Btech)
- The candidate in this position should –
- Drive &/or Support New Product Design and Development of Aircraft Hydraulic Pumps
- Drive &/or Support Prelaunch Engineering processes
- Create Product Concepts and architecture ideas and demonstrate, expertise at STEM – Science Technology Engineering Mathematics basics for demonstrating the feasibility of designs through relevant Engineering calculations/predictions
- Has proficiency with CAD, Analytical Tools (CREO, MathCAD, Matlab/Simulink, CfX, ADL, etc.), Limits, Fits and tolerancing, GD&T
- Apply basics of DfX – DFSS, DFMA, DfR, and DFE. Apply Robust design methodologies/tools for decision-making – DFSS, LEAN, DMAIC
- Execute technical, schedule, cost, and quality commitments for every deliverable as per project scope. An additional responsibility of managing the project/program financials as appropriate.
- Establish objectives and goals and provide direction to the project teams in areas of customer concerns
- Ensure standard program management processes are utilized and adequate support to the project team by coordinating PM reviews, and preparing & publishing PM metrics and reports.
- Provide monthly project updates (Project Status Report – Green/Yellow/Red) of the current situation relating to milestones and problem/high-risk areas (e.g., technical, cost, and schedule). Provide updates to the business units as well as divisional, and group levels.
- Builds strong customer relationships and anticipates/delivers customer-centric solutions
- Know-how of Aerospace Product Testing and Qualification – DO160 and failure investigation, FRACA (RCA, FTA, 8D), Authoring Qualification Artifacts (QPP, ATP, QTP, QSAR, QTR)
Skills:
- CAD proficiency – ProE; Engineering Drawing and GD&T understanding
- Communication, Report Writing
- He/she should have experience and know-how in creating solutions and estimating materials, testing costs, and Engineering NRE for Aerospace products/programs.
- DFSS methodology experience is preferred for candidates.
- Know-how of Digital tools and capabilities including but not limited to – Python Programming, Advance Excel, PowerBI, VB, and/or similar equivalents, etc. to drive digitalization strategies and technical/functional productivity areas would be desired.
