Mechanical Engineer will be required to work on project execution in EL/Fire Business in Electrical Sector, Life Safety division. Primary work will include –
- Execute on projects from Idea to implementation.
- Design mechanical components & assemblies related to Plastics and Sheetmetal parts.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders, global engineering team for project execution through idea generation, design, testing and implementation phase.”
“• Contribute & lead Idea generation events to build project pipeline with help of Tech. leads, SMEs and global stakeholders.
- Perform teardown, generate ideas, perform system/ component sizing, modelling, and simulation to meet product design and compliance requirements.
- Develop understanding on requirements, VOC, compliance standards and draw appropriate conclusion from the available information in a timely fashion
- Develop understanding of both technology and products of EL & Fire portfolio including understanding on regulatory requirements such as IEC,UL,CSA, NEMA standards, design considerations, system interactions, application and constraints.
Design and development of plastics and Sheetmetal parts considering ergonomics
- Evaluate ideas to estimate the potential savings, build business case, required resources, timeline and align with stakeholders for approvals.
- Design/modify 3D models, drawings & BOM of Emergency Luminaries, Power systems & Panels component/assemblies
- Drive regular follow-up meetings to provide periodic update on Project status, challenges, changes and impact.
- Assess test results, perform root cause analysis through test findings/failures and take corrective/preventive actions
- Support suppliers in resolving DFM related challenges and queries to provide quotes and prototypes.
- Will be responsible for execution of the project and support activities like Production feasibility assessment and Part production approval process (PPAP).”
Qualifications:
BE / M Tech – Mechanical Engineering
“Required: 3-6 Years of total experience
- 3+ years of experience in design development on projects related to Sheetmetal, Plastic products.”
Skills:
“• Understanding on the lighting products background
- Proven knowledge and experience in NPI project execution also should be capable of working on NPI/ Sustaining projects as needed.
- Expertise in the design of Plastic & Sheetmetal components and assemblies. Knowledge of Machined parts.
- Strong ability to implement GD&T, drafting standards & mechanical design processes
- Strong knowledge on manufacturing processes, materials, cost and latest technologies in manufacturing of mechanical components and prototyping techniques.
- Knowledge on identifying requirements & developed test plans from standards in accordance to IEC/UL/CSA/CCC codes.
- Knowledge of DFSS methodology & experience in using various tools like Concept trade-off, PDSC, DFMEA, DVP etc.
- Understanding & experience in reviewing structural/thermal/CFD/MBD, moldflow, and reliability analysis reports to draw appropriate conclusions.
- Knowledge of PLM systems (Enovia, SAP) and change management processes ECR/ECO.
- Hands-on experience in CAD tools – SolidWorks & Creo.
- Basic Knowledge on electronics/ hardware components.”
