Job description
The Primary function of this role is to execute on assigned New Product Introduction (NPI) and Pursuits programs along with the project lead to design, develop and validate valvetrain components for commercial vehicles.Collaborate with cross fucntional teams from sales, manufacturing, SCM and test lab to deliver on project milestones. Deliver quality through implementing robust design processes, guidelines and standards, all while ensuring targeted OTD and FTY
The key responsbilities of this role include
- To design and engineer various standard valve actuation products like rockers arms, hydraulic lash adjustors & advanced VVA mechanism for Engine brakes, Late Intake Valve Closing (LIVC), Cylinder Deactivation (CDA) etc. for commercial vehicles ICE’s
- Conduct design feasibility studies, perform preliminary engineering calculations, design valvetrain components, coordinate with simulation teams (FEA, MBD, 1D simulation) to verify and improve design
- Create & release engineering drawings with relevant GD&T & stack up calculations
- Coordinate with cross functional teams like manufacturing, test lab, simulation etc. to mature the design and progress technical maturity
- Conduct design reviews, present technical studies and findings to Portfolio lead, technical lead, design review board & chief engineer of product line
- Conduct & drive manufacturing review (MFR) & and supplier feasibility review (DSFR) for prototype & production worthy prints. Facilitate and review manufacturing process capability & support PPAP submission
- Solve technical problems while working on new Pursuit Projects, NPI & VAVE projects with project team members working across the Globe
Qualifications
B.E / B.Tech or M.E / M.Tech in Mechanical/Production
0-1 yrs with M.E/M.Tech and 3-4 yrs with B.E/B.Tech ,in R&D &/or Mfg Processes
Technical Knowledge
- Experince with Engg drawings ,CAD
- Proficient in structural and applied mechanics
- Basics of manufacturing processes & GD&T
