Job description
The incumbent is expected to provide technical leadership for custom Cylinder application engineering quotes and address sales and customer queries related to the Cylinder portfolio. The incumbent will act as a point of contact for Application engineering quote activities. He/She is required to participate in and lead strategical discussions & come up with cost-effective design solutions/proposals, provide direction, and develop constructive solutions aligning with business needs. The incumbent is expected to build the network reach out to other global application teams and provide technical mentoring and guidance to the team members across the globe.
Job Responsibilities
- Knowledge of hydraulics products & R&D domain
- Lead simple & complex quote requests for North America
- Provide technical support for simple & complex application quotes involving multiple components & new applications.
- Provide suitable Danfoss Cylinder’s for competitor crossover request
- Act as technical product line expert to both internal and external customers as required.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce engineering touch time for quotes.
- Provide quotes with reduced product complexity & cost to improve margins
- Maintain knowledge objects, and quote procedures documents.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing partners (marketing, supply chain, procurement, extended R&D) to ensure quality, cost, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Background & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 3-4 years of experience in design and application engineering.
- Proven expertise in mechanical design with demonstrated experience in design and application quotes.
- Good knowledge about the use of various materials, seals, coating processes & GD&T
- Good knowledge of processes methodologies and tools. Professional Certifications in DMAC /LEAN will be an added advantage.
