Danfoss High Pressure Pumps (HPP) is seeking a CAD Engineer for our Chennai Campus Innovation Team.
Our portfolio includes pumps & energy recovery devices (ERD) used in various applications such as freshwater production through reverse osmosis, dust & fire suppression, humidification, wastewater filtration. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with groundbreaking technology & customize it to meet the demands & needs of our customers. HPP comprises over 100 visionary & innovative colleagues who develop, manufacture, & deliver component & system solutions based on pumps, ERDs & valves.
HPP Innovation focuses on digital product representation using advanced parametric CAD models & intelligent master data to enable rapid innovation & development cycles, & certification documentation. We are strategically investing in cutting-edge digital tools & expertise across all technology development areas. This digital transformation will accelerate innovation & deliver exceptional value to our customers.
As a CAD Engineer in HPP, your responsibilities will range from initial concept development & design solutions to collaborating with FEM & CFD simulation engineers, analysing test results, refining designs, & creating comprehensive design documentation for our customers.
Job Responsibilities
- Utilize Siemens NX to design & develop 3D models & 2D drawings for mechanical components & assemblies, employing advanced parametric modelling techniques as a primary focus.
- Manage product data & documentation within Teamcenter PLM system.
- Develop & implement NX automation scripts & methodologies to streamline design processes & assembly design to improve efficiency within the Teamcenter environment.
- Conduct design reviews & implement design changes based on feedback.
- Experience with GD&T & tolerance analysis.
- Knowledge of common engineering materials (metals, plastics, composites) & their properties to make informed material choices for specific design requirements.
- Practical knowledge of SAP for material management & BOM creation
- Ability to develop & maintain internal CAD guidelines & best practices to ensure consistency & quality across design projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, procurement) to ensure design feasibility & manufacturability.
Background & Skills
- Holds a Bachelors or Master’s degree in Mech engineering & less than 4 years of industry experience.
- Has expertise with working in Siemens NX & Teamcenter.
- Understands how to create advanced CAD features both at component & assembly level.
- Is experienced with documenting data in SAP & Teamcenter.
- Is experienced in understanding simulation calculations, tolerance chain analysis, & material documentation, etc.
- Is proficient in written & spoken English.
- A highly motivated team player with a positive, cross-functional mindset, thriving in environments that value both collective & individual achievements.
- Proactive in problem-solving & maximizing value creation, with an understanding of the full product lifecycle. Driven by working in a development team that appreciates initiative & innovation.
