Job Description

JOB FUNCTIONS (ESSENTIAL)

  • Responsible for gathering all required information from the product team on scope of analysis, boundary conditions, loads, setting up the mesh and model set up.
  • Perform static and dynamic analysis, interpret results, prepare and present results to team with summary and conclusions.
  • Responsible for on time & quality project results delivery.
  • Responsible to assist team leader in establishing and updating project plans and priorities.
  • Responsible to monitor and prioritize the projects.
  • Work with offshore FEA resources to complete projects and provide support as needed.
  • Responsible for knowledge sharing on all the reviewed projects.
  • Experience – 6-8 years of experience as a dedicated structural and thermal analysis engineer with Ansys software.
  • Experience with simulating electronic circuit board assemblies inside mechanical packaging materials with non-linear materials preferred.
  • Experience with drop, shock, random vibration, thermal steady state and transient test simulations is preferred.
  • Development of core and/or application specific mechanical requirements for automotive electronics.
  • Develop mechanical hardware in compliance with Global Product Engineering Process (GPEP).
  • Verify mechanical requirements at component and assembly level testing.
  • Support rest of the functional disciplines with all aspects related to mechanical hardware.
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts. Researches, recommends, and implements new and/or existing products, processes, materials, and equipment.
  • Ensure competitive technical proposal, engineering estimate and technical review material are provided per pursuit targets and agreed upon timing in support of the sales target.
  • Benchmark competitor’s solutions and determine best ways to improve or surpass the competition.
  • Support customer meetings as the technical subject matter expert for specific product or discipline.
  • Mechanical Engineer with design experience is preferred.
    • Requirements analysis, Mechanical architecture development, component design and assembly management
    • In depth analysis, simulation, development of design documentation (3D models, 2D drawings, ME/EE interface, DFMEA)
    • Optimization of design for cost, manufacturability and quality
    • Experience in thermal management
    • Thermal analysis of electronic assemblies
    • Thermal mitigation strategies (Conduction paths, convection surfaces)
  • Experience in electronic enclosure sealing analysis and design
    • Dispensed sealants
    • Laser/Vibration weld sealing
    • Fixed gasket sealing
    • Enclosure seal testing
