Description
- Ensures products received or produced meet technical specifications trains others and assists in process development. Works under minimal supervision.
- Verifies the final quality of products on the production line.
- Compares the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment and products to technical specifications to identify defects.
- Separates products that do not have the desired technical specification, using basic and/or complex measurement techniques and equipment.
- Documents products that do not meet technical specifications using specified systems.
- Trains others in the use of measurement equipment, segregation of non-conforming products and documentation.
- Follows the norms and standards of quality defined by the Company.
- Reports progress on problem resolution to management.
- Assists in the development of new methods and procedures.

- Laboratory Management – Leads technical resources while managing the business aspects of a laboratory using measures to control both the technical and business aspects of the organization and assuring the requirements of the appropriate certifications and/or accreditations are met.
- Quality Process Management – Applies and manages methods (e.g. SPC, Capability studies, Layered Process Audit, inspection, test) to ensure the quality of Cummins products, processes, and services.
Education, Licenses, Certifications
High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
Requires significant relevant work experience, specialized skills obtained through education, training, and on-the-job experience.
- Knowledge of GD & T and ability to read and understand components engineering drawing.
- Knowledge of inspection Tools & on hand experience on basic inspection tools
- Knowledge of basic Statistics SPC, R&R and experience in using soft wares like Minitab etc.
- Lead seven step problem solving process and actively participate in six sigma activities
5. Ensure Zero Defect products and Processes. PPAP system knowledge.
- Awareness of internal /external calibration process, traceability.
- Preference to experience in Machine shop quality.
- expertise in shop transactions like, A tag, B tag, C tag and IR.
9. Timely disposition of non-conformity parts.
- Set up inspection, In process Inspection, Audit inspection, Layout inspection, LPA etc.
