Key Purpose of the Job (Position Summary)
This position is responsible for developing 2D / 3D tire simulation models and apply them for simulation of new products as per the product design shared by the product development and design team.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- No. of simulations for new products development
- % Conformance to simulation standards
- % time reduction by CAE automation & optimization
- No. of R&D projects undertaken
- Simulation capability development
KEY ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
New Product Design simulation
- Liaise with the design team to understand the product design in detail
- Develop virtual 2D/ 3D models as per the product design/ drawing and carry out simulation for the same through use of simulation software
- Develop simulation models for new materials and update models for existing material
- Tyre structural, dynamic and thermal simulations
- Analyse simulation output/ results and estimate performance metrics
- Co-ordinate and follow-up with CFT’s like design, compounding, PDM, testing to ensure timely execution of all activities as per the plan
Capability development
- Develop Computer Aided Engineering (ABAQUS, HYPER MESH, LMS) based methods for nonlinear analysis of tire performance and manufacturing process
- Develop optimization methods
Other activities
- Maintain a library of documents related to simulation – Simulation models, SOP’s, test cases, test results, simulation standards
- Capture knowledge/ learnings on a regular basis into department’s Knowledge Management system and update the same
Education and Experience Required
Education Requirement:
- M.E / M. Tech (Mechanical, Rubber) with B.Tech (Mechanical, Rubber/Polymer)
Experience: 1-5 years of experience in use of FE software (Abaqus, Hypermesh)
Preferred:
- Comfortable working with Tire simulations using Abaqus, Hypermesh
- Knowledge of Python, Fortran will be a plus
