As a Design Engineer in the Large Power System Division Mechanical Packaging group, you will have an opportunity to direct and participate in the design and development of package cooling systems, cooling system integration hardware, and structural components.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

1. Conceives and provides practical product design applications using complex technical principles
2. Collaborate with other engineering teams to define and meet product requirements
3. Prepares concept, design, and development and feasibility studies of complex engineering projects
4. Develop and maintain detailed project and validation plans
5. Coordinates product test with proven design and prototype build up and test areas
6. Provides guidance to other engineers responsible for portions of the product project to ensure development schedules are met
7. Evaluates, defines, and resolves design and manufacturing problems
8. Uses technical expertise and product knowledge to support the issue resolution process by interfacing with Test and Evaluation, Service, Plant personnel, suppliers, and consultants
9. Works with manufacturability teams resolving problems with manufacturing and statistical process controls
10. Collaborate on design and validation with global suppliers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Engineering or engineering technology degree and 4-7 years’ experience with progressive engineering assignments with a mastery of complex engineering and manufacturability concepts
  • Experience in NPI (New Product Introduction), CPI (Current Product Improvement) or Cost Reduction design and development
  • Must have a good mechanical aptitude with ability to develop product concepts
  • Requires strong leadership ability and good communications skills

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Master’s degree in engineering, or equivalent experience
  • High level of proficiency in Pro/E or other modeling or simulation tools
  • Cooling system design experience
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience working in a fast paced globally located teams
