Mechanical Design Engineer

A minimum of 4+ years of experience in designing structural components related to Turbo machinery products including Enclosures, Base frames, Ancillary components and validate them to meet the specific requirements. This role provides engineering support for new product development and operational optimization as required to maximize their availability and reliability.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Mechanical design, packaging system design, and equipment layout design knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge on Structural material properties and their performance considering the offshore and onshore applications.
  • Responsibilities include creating design concepts for the structural components to meet design and manufacturing requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and can collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement various improvements/changes/suggestions.
  • Should apply practical design considerations and utilize technical knowledge to achieve design objectives relative to manufacturability, cost, quality, and durability.
  • Continuously challenges self-skills in functional area and stays current with industry developments in one’s field of expertise.
  • Become part of the product team and form close working relationships by understanding the whole system function and presenting solutions and design direction to the design community in an insightful and timely manner.
  • Work with team to prioritize work and drive system solution by clearly articulating business needs.
Qualification:
  • Bachelor’s Engineering degree in Mechanical with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Turbomachinery / Oil and Gas Industries.
  • Hands-on experience in CREO 4.0 and higher version.
  • Ability to handle Large Assembly and detailing/drafting the same.
  • The ability to read P&ID for layout design.
  • Experience in handling engineering changes in the product life cycle. (Preferably in Windchill).
  • Exposure to work with standards like EN/DIN/ISO/ASME or other European/American standards.
  • Basic knowledge in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Good communication and team player.
  • Expertise in system & process knowledge in O&G and Power generation industry.
