Boeing India Engineering is currently looking Associate Mechanical Design and Drafting Engineer – Airframe structures to join their team in Bangalore, Karnataka. This position will need to fulfill all requirements of contact labor policy created by Boeing India Private limited.
This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) and Boeing Global Services (BGS) business organizations.
A successful candidate will understand the importance of collaboration and shall work with the Engineering Manager, Project lead & Systems leads to develop or optimize the designs, engineering process, analyze the supplier quality issues, support the development of cutting-edge technologies and digital initiatives.
Position Responsibilities:
- Key Responsibilities would be -To support the aircraft structural design, development, Engineering Quality issues during manufacturing, configuration management (Product Data Management), CAD modeling and Drafting of part and assembly drawings. Engineering Liaison activities to address the design and manufacturing changes from supply chain and production.
- Create / Update /Review the CATIA based drawings based on final agreed design changes and approved Boeing design standards.
- Perform configuration changes using the PDM
- This position will be responsible for coordinating and communicating regularly with team members in Boeing organizations and shall provide periodic update on project progress, quality metrics, project summaries, and other related documents.
- In this role, the Engineer may lead group of tasks and involve in planning, scheduling and supporting the capability build of the team.
- This position will participate and support initiatives of Boeing India organization related to engineering excellence, employee development, customer engagement etc.
- This position will be located in Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center, Bangalore, India.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Aeronautical or equivalent disciplines.
- 0 to 6 Years of relevant Work experience.
- Experience in Enovia, PDM and CATIA
- Must Have skills: Aerospace (Structural in particular) Requirements, Enovia, CATIA V5 (Part, Assembly, Drawing) PDM, Tolerance stack-up, Boeing Tools & standards (preferable).
- Top candidate will have expert level competency in CATIA and PDM.
- Experience in structural designs (Fuselage, wings etc., for Commercial Programs) , CAD modeling, Drawing Creation , Drawing review, Engineering analysis – Root cause analysis of failures, Fasteners selection, Failure modes, Structural integrity checks, GD &T , DFMA, Aircraft material selection & trade off, Design for Corrosion and structural loads (DO-160 requirements)
- Boeing Experience will be given preference. Able to independently work or lead the group of engineers, able to perform planning estimation and scheduling.
- Experience of independently developing designs using CAD Tools (CATIA primarily) for Modeling, Drafting & Model Based Definition is essential.
- Able to perform independently or with limited guidance from SME or tech fellow.
- Perform with positive attitude and highest ethics.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Experience in Model Based Engineering using tools like 3DX etc.,
- Knowledge of DOORS, CAMEO will be an added advantage.
- Macro creation and Automation
- QC Checking procedures and best practices, Should know various aerospace standards of standard BOM, standard and special notes creations, metal tempers and special coatings/finishes, NAS fasteners representations, dimensioning, view creations, sheet sizes and layouts selection and other ASME standards etc.
- Expert knowledge of system requirements (Tier 1, 2 and 3) and detailed understanding of aircraft system design and development process (ARP 4754A, ARP 4761 etc.,). Knowledge of Model based engineering is vital part of the required skill set.
- Experience in Aerospace drafting standards, structural design of mechanical Systems, DFX (X- Manufacturing, Assembly, Optimization etc.,) , Tier 1, 2 and 3 requirements, Certification process, Development and Verification of Aircraft systems towards certifications etc.,
- Create / Update /Review the CATIA based drawings based on final agreed design changes and approved Boeing design standards.
- Perform configuration changes using the PDM
- Receive 3D Models of detail parts, sub-assemblies and assemblies from Enovia/PDM and check for input errors.
- Convert the CAD models (Un-parameterized/partially parameterized) to a parameterized model to comply DFMA requirements and appropriate aerospace modeling and drafting standards.
- Create 3D drawing (MBD) through CATIA V5’s Functional tolerance and annotation workbench. The drawings would require-
- PDM/ ENOVIA attributes like Effectively, part naming, spares, part restriction, etc
- Create Engineering notes and other Parts List requirements for ENOVIA/PDM

Typical Education & Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 1 to 5 years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+ 0 years’ related work experience etc.)
