Roles and Responsibilities
- Designing project frameworks
- Producing detailed construction and design plans for architects and engineers from other disciplines to follow
- Collaborating with industrial and packaging engineers to develop, manufacture, and market products
- Making time and expense estimates on a project basis
- Creating two and three-dimensional technical drawings
- Designing floor plans, renderings, and elevations using computer software
- Choosing which materials to use for a product
- Overseeing assistant drafters and others involved in a design project
- Coding and testing software
- Developing procedures and standards for a design team
- Finding technical solutions to meet a client’s goals
- Training and offering support and guidance to their team
