Responsible for Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Requires mastery of a body of theoretical knowledge. Requires developed and strong foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant technologies.
As a Lead Engineer – Mechanical Component, you will be responsible for:
- Executing design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
- Developing new solutions/Products under guidance or in a team setting or based upon precedents in the organizations and validating using sound engineering and reliability practices.
- Working together with leadership within Product Management, Project Management, and Technical functions.
- Specifying needs, communicating about project approach, and presents outcomes of research done
- Delivering products & Solutions as part of a team. Works on cross-functional teams. Leads analytical and design activities using proven technologies and vested approaches and methods.
- Generating detailed design reports to submit to certification agencies for product certifications.
- Being responsible to finalize assembly and part level tolerances by performing tolerance stack-up, and analysis while considering the impact on overall manufacturing cost.
- Developing final production drawings in accordance with applicable design and manufacturing standards.
- Defining parts, and BOMs in any ERP system (preferably SAP) and performing Engineering. change management whenever needed.
- Being responsible for preparing test cases and performing necessary testing as part of Engineering verification and validation.
Fuel your passion
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have Bachelor’s/Master’s degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in product design & development
- Have hands-on experience with any 3D CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks.
- Having hands-on experience in ANSYS structural analysis would be an added advantage.
- Having good knowledge in GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis is a must.
- Have a good understanding of various materials (metals & plastics) and various manufacturing processes (casting, forging, injection molding & machining)
- Have a good foundation of function skills and knowledge of relevant Technologies & Development tools
