Your role
Job Description/Mission
- To design and develop new concepts with the objective of:
- Achieving the design requirements of the product within the limits of laid down process,guidelines, and requirements for an Engineering Design project at Global Engineering Centre of Atlas Copco India at Pune.
Project Design:
- Understand the scope of work for Product Development or custom design projects.
- Taking the lead in planning and estimating the work. Conduct a feasibility study and design the manufacturing and engineering drawings as per requirements. Solving technical queries of subordinates and working as a Design Expert.
- Conducting design reviews of 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Knowledge documentation.
- Coaching junior employees.
Design of Industrial Products includes –
- Design of base frames and mounting frames Design of supports, brackets, and flexible hoses.
- Design for manufacturing and assembly.
- Design considering accessibility for service and ease of assembly.
- Expert in 3D solid modeling and sheet metal modules.
- Expert in part drawings and assembly drawings.
- Expert in Bill of materials and engineering change requests, drawing revisions.
- Expert in detailing drawings.
- Project Execution and review
- Review design and check for adherence to safety and quality standards as per defined international and Atlas Copco standards.
- Develop status reports and monitor and control the progress of the project.
- Participate in daily and weekly project team meetings to present status reports and clarify queries.
- Flexibly work on tasks assigned considering priorities as and when required.
- Keeping a record of checked drawings, regular update of timesheet
- Ability to keep a record of all communication related to the project according to std.procedure defined.
To succeed, you will need
Knowledge requirement:
- BE Mechanical or Equivalent from a recognized university with min. 5 years of experience in the design domain.
- Knowledge of Vacuum Pumps will be an added advantage
Hands-on experience on Creo 8.0 & Inventor.
Good knowledge and experience of PLM & ERP systems such as SAP ECTR Well, conversant with Microsoft Office and good verbal and written English communication skills. - Personality Requirement:
Self-disciplined and well-mannered person following office timing and work ethics.
Able to communicate clearly about difficulties and the status of work at hand. Proactive in informing problems related to the project before it occurs.
Having a sense of urgency and sense of responsibility. - Team player
Project Management skills
Additional information: The position calls for travel internationally. Valid Passport needed
