The Role

To support Product care activities as a part of a Technical Support Group team at Atlas Copco GECIA. This role is to provide engineering support to various product care teams of Atlas Copco product companies operating at various locations across the globe.

You should have a very high affinity for problem-solving and providing technical support. You should be very interested and innovative to be able to provide quick and accurate technical solutions.

What do we expect of you?

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Handle product care JIRA calls.
• Provide technical solutions to handle modification requests from Quality, Methods, Production, and Marketing teams.
• Apply techniques such as VAVE, 8D analysis, DFM, and DFA to provide high-quality and innovative solutions.
• Provide solutions to field problems and support retrofitting activities.
• Create or modify concept designs.
• Create or update technical documents.
• Handle engineering change management activities like ECO and DN.
• Communicate with overseas teams on a regular basis.
• Maintain planning and status sheets of product care calls.
• Estimate the amount of effort required for a task.
• Record learnings and help to create training documents

Educational requirements/Experience requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
• Should have basic knowledge of Air Compressors and designing of compressor Packages.
• Should understand key contributors to product performance, product quality, and aesthetic value.
• Should have a basic understanding of the modularity approach.
• Experience in VAVE, 8D analysis, DFA, and DFM would be an advantage.
• Should be able to read and interpret the International Standards applicable to Air Compressor industry.
• Knowledge about the Design of Skid packages for compressors would be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Sheet metal, Piping design, Flange selection, and heavy fabrication.
• Experience in Product care activities
• Experience in working on CAD software like Inventor & PLM system Vault etc.
• Knowledge of BOM generation, working on ERP system.
• Experience in doing design calculations at the component level would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of Ms office tools like Excel, PowerPoint, etc
• Good written & verbal communication in English is a must.
