Job description

General:

  • Technically competent and able to use engineering judgment independently to determine solutions
  • Draft technical Reports and contractual documents of acceptable technical and presentational quality with minimum guidance.
  • Apply new ideas/digital ideas to improve solutions and processes to improve efficiency.
  • Receive on-the-job technical training through performing tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Good knowledge of work procedures and ensure work adheres to procedures.
  • Responsible for completion of specifically assigned tasks to time and cost.

Technical:

  • A sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application in Water, Wastewater treatment plant processes, and pumping stations.
  • Experience in the production of design documentation including optioneering reports and specifications.
  • Experience in producing design calculations of mechanical equipment for Water and Wastewater treatment plants.
  • Familiar with working to design national and international codes and industry standards appropriate for Water and Wastewater industry.
  • Ability to produce hydraulic calculations for mechanical equipment, equipment datasheets/specifications, and schedules.
  • Pipe sizing calculations, pump sizing calculations, wet well/reservoir sizing calculations.
  • General Arrangement drawings for piping and mechanical equipment. Isometric drawings. P&IDs, PFDs, etc.
  • Software- AutoCAD working knowledge is essential and AutoCAD Plant 3D/AutoCAD Revit would be an added advantage. Should have a working knowledge of 3D Models etc.
