Job Summary
- The Buyer/Planner takes care of the procurement of parts to Armstrong Manufacturing Center (AMC)
- The position is located in Bangalore.
- In addition to annual initiatives, the key accountabilities of this position are:
Job Responsibility
- Responsible for procuring parts like Motors, Drives, imported items to AMC.
- Review and analyze Standard cost changes.
- Responsible for minimum inventory of the commodities assigned
- Understands the PPV, Freight variance, and inward of his parts to keep the production is not affected.
- Following up with suppliers for OA, delivery commitments, and right quality products.
- Participate in daily review meetings and dashboard preparation.
- Review customer orders booked on daily basis and communicate the deliveries to customer service/sales.
- Provide production plan & priorities to the operational teams.
- Work together with cross-functional teams – logistics, Finance & Sourcing to ensure smooth & Ontime supplies from all suppliers.
- Releasing of shop floor orders in-time to meet customer OTD 100%
- Communicate any changes in customer deliveries to sales/customer support & operations team
- Maintain clean data of items, suppliers, supplier rating, purchase orders & Projects while execution
- Provide lead time confirmation on inquiries prior to booking.
- Maintain On-time delivery of supplier items > 95%
- Maintain ordering levels of items to be within Inventory policy & Inventory turns
- Maintain Purchase price variance within given targets
- Maintain Freight expenses within given targets
- Review & Reduce obsolete inventory periodically.
- Maintain & Provide Dashboard updates on a daily basis to required members
- Comply with all Certifications like IS9001-2015, 14001, FM, UL.
- Provide accurate status update in daily S&OP meeting.
Role Requirements
- University Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 3 to 4 years of experience in Planning or Purchasing
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint presentations
- Analytical thinking
- Working Knowledge in ISO 9001- 2015, 14001.
- Good learning Curve – ability to grasp the topics
- Strong, team-oriented skills.
- Ability to communicate in an open manner in all situations
- 5S, kaizen & other CI activities.
