Job description
JOB PURPOSE:The graphics operator is responsible for electronic drafting of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD’s) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s) for Air Products Operations and Engineering organizations with the guidance under Graphics Engineer
DIMENSIONS:
The work is all 2D drafting, typically working from hand mark-ups from the Process and Process Systems engineers
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Carrying out drafting of the PFD & P&ID graphics with guidance of designer and closely working with engineer Accurate drafting from hand mark-ups Accurate data entry for attributes behind the P&ID graphics Ensuring compliance with AP global drafting practices Administration of PFD and P&ID publishing to AP document management work process
DRAFTING TOOLS:
The drafting tools used are:
- Smart Plant PID (SPPID): Mandatory requirement
- 2D Microstation
- Smart sketch
- AutoCAD (optional).
- SPPID is a database tool with drafting capabilities and the Graphics team are responsible for ensuring accurate data entry as well as correct use of the symbols and appropriate layout of the graphical image.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Diploma engineer in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 4 years of experience with at least two years of experience in drafting PFD and P&ID for process plants using the SPPID is mandatory.
- Worked with overseas customers to communicate effectively with the UK, US teams as and when required.
