Position: Assistant Engineer (Staff Mechanical – Crusher)

Job Purpose
The Assistant Engineer at Nathdwara Cement Works is responsible for overseeing and executing mechanical maintenance activities within the Mechanical Utility Section of production lines 1 & 2. This role focuses on maximizing plant availability, optimizing costs, and improving productivity through effective equipment management and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Availability
- Plan and monitor limestone crusher maintenance for optimal equipment uptime.
- Address minor technical issues, execute improvement actions, and ensure effective equipment lubrication.
- Inspect equipment such as compressors, blowers, water pumps, and cooling towers across shifts to prevent idle time.
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement modifications in plant operations for smoother, efficient workflow.
- Analyze breakdowns and resolve bottlenecks through focused improvement strategies.
- Actively participate in improvement meetings and contribute to productivity enhancement.
- Cost Control
- Manage spare parts and lubricants inventory, optimizing maintenance costs in line with the budget.
- Source critical and general spares cost-effectively from OEMs and reputed suppliers.
- Control labor costs by managing overtime and monitoring contractor expenses.
- System Management
- Ensure compliance with Integrated Management Systems (IMS) and plant standards.
- Implement improvement projects to reduce repetitive breakdowns and losses.
- Actively participate in Kaizen, Good-to-Fine, and other improvement meetings.
- Monitor emissions, address leakage points, and follow SOPs to maintain quality standards.
- Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE)
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and conduct regular safety talks and training.
- Lead safety initiatives, monitor housekeeping, and report abnormalities for corrective action.
- Promote sustainability by reducing power and resource usage and safeguarding the environment.
Challenges
- Optimizing Utilities: Minimize power consumption of compressors and water pumps across pyro and grinding sections.
- Resource Management: Supervise a workforce with varied skill levels, ensuring task accuracy and productivity.
Qualifications
- Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 2-5 years in mechanical maintenance or a similar role.
