You will be working as an R&D Engineer and will be part of the Electrification Business Area for Smart Power Division based in Hyderabad, India. In this role, you will be reporting to R&D Team Lead and will be responsible for working on business priority projects of defined scope, applying concepts to issues of moderate to high complexity, and resolving issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
Your responsibilities
- Performing assigned tasks including definition, approach, analysis, review, and implementation on schedule and within budget
- Making technical decisions by applications of specialized knowledge / skills, Leverage prior work where appropriate
- Recommending technical approach, required resources, and schedule interfaces with other
- Engineering Departments, Test Laboratories, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, Research, and Suppliers as required
- Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to ensure requirements are met; building strong relationships
- Communicating status and problems to project leaders and management
- Leading documentation of technical design details & test results; participating in program reviews, and preparing invention disclosures where appropriate
- Providing guidance and instructions to technicians while carrying out test activities
- Having the ability to work in teams and achieve targets in a global environment
Your background
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; or higher
- 4+ years of experience in R&D of LV Circuit Breakers and Switchgear; Exposure to product design & development, quality, value engineering, costing of electrical distribution and control products like ACB, MCCB, MCB, Contactors, and Switches
- Good awareness of circuit breaker technology, applicable regulatory standards and test requirements thereof
- Proficient in CAD Tools like Creo, Pro/ENGINEER; basic awareness / hands-on expertise on simulation tools like ANSYS etc.
- Highly motivated team player with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, and strong communication skills
