You will be working as an R&D Associate Engineer and will be part of the Electrification Business Area for the Smart Power division based in Hyderabad, India. In this role you will be reporting to the R&D Team Manager and will be responsible for identifying, proposing, and implementing innovative technology development and solutions by contributing with your own ideas. Executing assigned product development tasks using unique technical knowledge.

Your responsibilities

  • Performing assigned tasks including definition, approach, analysis, review and implementation on schedule and within budget
  • Making technical decisions by applications of specialized knowledge or skills, leverage prior work where appropriate
  • Recommending technical approach, required resources and schedule interfaces with other engineering departments, test laboratories, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, research and suppliers as required
  • Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to ensure requirements are met and building strong relationships
  • Communicating status and problems to project leaders and management. Leading documentation of technical design details and test result
  • Participating in program reviews and preparing invention disclosures where appropriate and providing training and direction to technicians

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in Research & Development of Low Voltage Circuit Breakers and Switchgear
  • Knowledge in product design and development, quality, value engineering, costing of electrical distribution and control products like ACB, MCCB, MCB, contactors and switches
  • Proficient in CAD tools like Creo, Pro/ENGINEER, etc. and simulation tools like ANSYS, etc
  • Good awareness of circuit breakers technology, UL/ANSI/NEMA regulatory standards and test requirements
  • Highly motivated team-player with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills
