This is an Design Engineer – Mech role reporting to Manufacturing Unit Manager in Process Automation Business Area, based out of Bangalore; India. You will be primarily responsible for 3D modelling, drafting, Mechanical design & drafting of Excitation system panels.
Your responsibilities
- Preparing engineering drawings in collaboration with engineering specialists using CAD system.
- Providing relevant information pertaining to drafting assignment to engineering team.
- Providing coaching and guidance to less experienced colleagues.
- Ensuring accurate application and implementation of standard processes and tools in preparing accurate drawings.
- Following the work schedule for one’s area of responsibility.
- Delivering on agreed timeline, cost estimate and set quality standards.
Your background
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical (Mech) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Hands on experience in Auto Cad, Solid Works, Solid edge & Pro-E, Creo.
- Hands on experience on Design/Migration/Conversion activities.
- Strong engineering background with knowledge of Sheet metal design & Busbar sizing.
- Preparation of detailed drawings from preliminary design.

You will be working as R&D Engineer, reporting to R&D Team Lead for Electrification Business Area for Smart Power Division based in Hyderabad.
Your responsibilities
- You will work on business priority projects of defined scope, apply concepts to issues of moderate to high complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
- Perform assigned tasks including definition, approach, analysis, review, and implementation on schedule and within budget
- Make technical decisions by applications of specialized knowledge / skills, Leverage prior work where appropriate
- Recommend technical approach, required resources, and schedule interfaces with other
- Engineering Departments, Test Laboratories, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, Research, and Suppliers as required.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders to assure requirements are met; build strong relationships
- Communicate status and problems to project leaders and management
- Lead documentation of technical design details & test results; participate in program reviews, and prepare invention disclosures where appropriate
- Provide training and direction to technicians.
Your background
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; or higher
- Minimum 6 – 10 years of experience in R&D of LV Circuit Breakers and Switchgear.
- Exposure to product design & development, quality, value engineering, costing of electrical distribution and control products like ACB, MCCB, MCB, Contactors, and Switches
- Proficient in CAD Tools like Creo, Pro/ENGINEER etc. and simulation Tools like ANSYS etc.
- Good awareness of circuit breakers technology, applicable regulatory standards and test requirements thereof
- Highly motivated team-player with a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
