As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be a member of Distribution Solutions’ Electrification division in Nashik, India. You will be answering to the Engineering Manager in this position, and your duties will include utilising standard design principles to develop and change the standard designs of equipment and systems of medium complexity.

Your responsibilities

  • After receiving a project, understanding the client’s needs and producing order-bound drawings, a bill of materials, and other paperwork while creating designs that adhere to the client’s specifications
  • completing all orders and projects on time and to the desired quality
  • following GD&T standards, doing extensive mechanical design and producing detailed component and assembly drawings for sheet metal, castings, and weldments
  • E-house, CSS design optimization based on bid obligations and technological needs
  • interacting with R&D peers to seek assistance and find answers for ambiguous technical problems
  • Mechanical engineering for LV, MV Switchgear, and E-House orders that are customised

Your background

  • DME/BE-Mechanical with 2–5 years’ experience in the MV Switchgear sector
  • Being familiar with the E-house will be advantageous.
  • SolidWorks expertise and experience, or similar 2D/3D software, is required.
  • Experience driving design goals for sustaining products while collaborating with cross-functional teams both inside and outside the company
  • Knowledge of sheet metal operations and processing, as well as knowledge of manufacturing processes and assemblies
  • prior work experience in manufacturing, mechanical drawing, or a similar field
