You will be working as Mechanical Design Engineer, reporting to R&D/Technology Manager for Electrification Business Area, Smart Buildings Division based in Hyderabad, India. You will be responsible for identifying, proposing, and developing designs for residential enclosed products as a team member in a global design team. Contributing your own ideas and executing using strong mechanical design skills.
Your responsibilities
- Collaborating with manufacturing to ensure a functional, producible design is developed. Demonstrating that performance and construction requirements have been met
- Reliably executing subsystem design and applying a structured design process to develop subsystems. Demonstrating an understanding of the subsystem’s importance in the larger system
- Contributing to research and development (R&D) projects with my own, creative ideas. Proposing follow-up activities based on project results
- Gathering information about relevant ABB products and technologies in order to achieve efficiency in own R&D activities and developing an understanding of technical drivers and customer value
- Participating constructively in global teams, collaborating with the team in terms of design and execution ideas, development, and implementation
- Demonstrating the ability to build a relevant internal network to support ongoing activities
Your background
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience in designing
- Experience designing with Creo CAD system
- Experience documenting products in a PLM environment
- Experience structuring and documenting bills of materials in windchill
- Exposure to UL standards (UL50, 67) – panelboards and enclosures
