The team you will be a part of

The Operations/Production team plans, directs, and monitors all production activities within an assigned area or unit to maximize the use of the organization’s resources and meet established production specifications, schedules, and quality standards. Liaise with functional or operational area managers to understand their current and future product needs and develop plans, cost estimates, and schedules for integrating these needs into existing manufacturing activities.

This role in summary

Control line/ shop with complete responsibility for delivery of set targets for volume, cost & quality with compliance to processes for his line.

Your responsibilities will include

  1. Ensure usage of PPE across the floor
  2. Report any incident / near miss with prelim analysis to the shift manager and record it in the log book.
  3. Conducts weekly safety meetings with BC and EHS representatives and ensures actions are taken.
  4. Ensure the First piece inspection happened
  5. Act immediately for any process NC captured during shift process audit.
  6. Act on CAL ‘A’ Defect immediately to contain / permanent action and escalate if support is required.
  7. For issues of a repetitive nature, analyze preliminary… take correction / escalate.
  8. Ensure the right skill is placed right workstation…. Deployment of certified / trained operators.
  9. Work on LGT issues…top contributors.
  10. Well-versed with the Usage of QC Tools, problem-solving techniques
  11. Tracks rejections happened during shifts in various shops.
  12. conducts preliminary analysis is done, takes corrections / escalates.
  13. Drive focussed projects for improvement on scrap / rejections
  14. Shift start-ups on time, manpower allocation
  15. Actualization of shift/ line targets as per model plan.
  16. Responsible for line yield.
  17. Explore alternatives in case of breakdowns/material shortages or other issues, that affect shift production…apprise to shift manager.
  18. Foresee bottlenecks for the shift delivery and work on timely correction.

Minimum requirements

  • Mechanical Graduate / Diploma Mechanical
  • 2 – 5 years on the shop floor

Preferred skills and experiences

  1. Manpower deployment on his line/ area
  2. Acts as prime mentor for temp workforce deployed in his area
  3. Observer to people-related issues, timely intervention, resolution, and report to shift manager.
