Job Summary:
In this role, as a Mechanical Engineer, Structural and Fluids Analyst you will be part of the analytical engineering team, performing computational simulations to support the development of new and existing product components, assemblies, and medical devices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works with the guidance of a Senior Mechanical Engineer to perform Moldflow (MF), structural Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations of the static and dynamic behavior of plastic injection molded components, assemblies, and medical devices.
- Assist in identifying, investigating, and analyzing problems with existing materials, and design devise methods and approaches to solve problems by applying knowledge of engineering structures in MF, FEA, and CFD.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop moldable and structurally stable part designs and to obtain more accurate MF, FEA, and CFD analysis results.
- Support product development and assist in developing effective designs by using Moldflow, FEA, and CFD results to determine moldability, fluid dynamics, and structural deficiencies.
- Collaborates with senior engineers to analyze and interpret MF, FEA, and CFD results and recommend design changes as needed.
- Helps drive and track the progress of assigned projects and provide status updates to project teams and or management.
- Support the preparation of reports and presentations for internal, external, and cross-functional teams to support program objectives.
- Organize and participate in knowledge development/sharing activities within the team and company.
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or other engineering disciplines matching the role 3-5 years related work experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in CAE 3D modeling knowledge.
- Minimum 3 years of structural and/or fluids analysis experience.
- Understanding of mechanical principles to solve classical structural analysis solutions both inside and outside of finite element tools.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- CAD experience (preferably Solidworks).
- Polymer or related material knowledge.
- Previous experience in developing and executing Moldflow, FEA, and CFD simulations (ANSYS, SIMULIA, COMSOL, preferred).
- Experience with parametric modeling and design of experiments.
- Experience with elastomer modeling or dynamic FEA (LS-dyna) or Multiphysics simulation experience (fluid-structure) a plus is.
- GLP and GMP experience preferred.
- Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to juggle/prioritize multiple programs.
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Prioritize and complete multiple technical projects and daily tasks.
- Learn and apply new skills.
- Understand and communicate technical ideas with technical and non-technical audiences (written and verbal)

- Comply with the company’s safety and quality policies.
Travel Requirements:
- 10% travel, including global travel.
- Occasional on-call work required.
- Prefer 12pm – 9pm India time. Willingness to work outside of these hours as needed.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Must be able to exert up to 10lbs/4kgs of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to life, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
- Must be able to interpret data, reading or writing, public speaking express or exchange ideas with employees, understand direction and adhere to established procedures.
- Ability to work in a global and virtual environment and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
