Job Summary:
The Associate Engineer, R&D, Robotics requires knowledge and experience and is accountable for collaborating with the R&D team in various locations to define, deliver and support design concepts, development, testing and integration of collaborative robot handling solutions and / or automated robotic arm solutions using Arduino microcontrollers and servomotor systems both local & global locations to understand the build of the test article.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- With guidance support development programs for robotic arms using VAL3 programming language and/or TM Flow software
- Support development of robot simulations using RoboDK or ROS-based software
- With technical support prepare instructions and operation manuals,
- Learn Rob studio – ABB and Implement, test, and deploy robotic programs as per requirements,
- Learn how to build and maintain strong relationships with the team and business to ensure collaboration and alignment within and outside of the R&D cross-functional teams.
- Assist in the development and implementation of software that will control robots; create prototypes and work on necessary components (e.g., microprocessors)
- Collaborate with other design and process team members to perform integration tests and quality control.
- Troubleshoot defects in the programming.
- Work with service providers for robotic programming under supervision for design discussions & work with vendors to get high-quality outputs related to logical thinking,
- Under guidance able to work under robot Programming, Robo Studio, Robo DK, PLC ladder logic & Hardware selections,
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in mechanical engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics & automation
- Minimum 0 – 3 years of related work experience,
Preferred knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic understanding of VAL3, Rob Studio ABB, PLC, ROS, Familiarity with 6-axis Robotic Arms, C++
- Basics of Electrical & Electronics, Control & Instrumentation.
- Awareness of different applied physics, and mechanics
- Ability to develop and evaluate integrated systems.
- Good knowledge on office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint
- Ability to understand different materials used in 3D printing as well as general fabrication.
- Good knowledge on office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint
- Comply with all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description
- Comply with the company’s safety and quality policies.
Physical and Travel Requirements
- 15% travel, including global travel.
- Occasional on-call work required.
- Prefer 12pm – 9pm India time. Willingness to work outside of these hours as needed.
- Ability to work in a global and virtual environment and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
