Key missions of the position:

Warranty Engineers are the primary technical resource for the Customers and Field Services team. They are responsible for actively attending customer issues and field complaints during warranty phase. Working in conjunction with the Customer Services and Product Quality teams, as the key technical advisor and product advocate, the Warranty Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical queries to assure complete customer satisfaction during warranty and post warranty phases of product life cycle. The System Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationship/ rapport with potential and actual customers. They will coordinate with Product, System and Application Engineers to quickly implement design solutions and improvements in fleet.

Main responsibilities:

  • Warranty Support to LHB systems (FIBA, ASCE, Brake Panel, Caliper, Actuator, Disc, WSP, Pull Box etc..) as the fleet size are exponentially increasing.
  • Warranty Support to Locomotive (Diesel & Electric) Brake systems (IRAB1, IRAB9, E70, Loco Valves, Fastbrake)
  • Warranty support for EP Controller and EP Unit for EMU and MEMU application
  • Support to resolve reliability issues and contribute towards Reliability growth. Interact closely with RAMS team and drive reliability improvement programs
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis and Field investigation
  • Timely implementation of engineering solutions in fleet with close coordination with Quality and CS teams.
  • Conduct training to Customer and Maintenance staff
  • Collect FRACAS data and Maintain product REX
  • Conduct Maintenance audits at sheds and customer sites
  • Participate in Gate Reviews, Design Reviews, FMECA and support product validation in field
  • Review Maintenance manuals, Maintenance schedules, practices and harmonize
  • Support RAMS team to develop reliability and LCC data of every product
  • Ensure that the systems / products design to meet the performance requirement to the satisfaction of customer
  • Competition analysis and identify best practices
  • Able to study, interpret and prepare detailed pneumatic schemes
  • Able to understand electrical schemes
  • Able to perform hand calculations for brake performances
  • Hands-on experience in performing system level tests on various brake systems
  • Frequent travel to Field for Warranty support and Troubleshooting activities
  • Establish Communication with global warranty teams
  • Act as technical point of contact for end user (Sheds, Zonal railways, PUs)
  • Able to identify, examine and address issues practically and effectively

Education/Training: B.E / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Mechatronics

Professional Experience:

Min 3 years in rail / automotive industry for BE Candidates

Min 6 years in rail / automotive industry for Diploma Candidates

Relevant experience in Rolling stock equipment

Good understanding of Pneumatic Brake System and components
