What you will do

At Volvo Group, you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry, and society at large. In this role, you will play a key part in optimizing our production lines by conducting value-added and non-value-added activity studies, including time studies and motion analysis. You will perform advanced product assembly simulations for both global and local projects, analyzing complex assembly kinematics and ensuring ergonomic standards are met. Your work will involve preparing and presenting virtual and material data for virtual reviews, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and proactively ensuring the quality of our digital product data. You will also coordinate with tooling and equipment engineers across global Volvo factories to document and manage virtual CAD data in our Global Tooling Repository.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Support in Value-added & non-value-added activities study on Production line- Time study, Spaghetti chart for motion study
  • Perform Product Assembly simulations for both Global and Local Product Projects: complex assembly kinematics, dynamic simulations, clash, and proximity analysis.
  • Perform Ergonomic assembly simulations regarding Volvo ergonomics standards for both Global and Local Product Projects
  • Report simulation conclusions to stakeholders (X-Functional)
  • Prepare virtual and material data for Virtual Reviews: scene preparation, sequences, and animations. This is based on Product data, Process information, Layout and Tools & Equipment data.
  • Proactive DMU quality checks. “CAD Police”, & Virtual product data quality follow up with engineering.
  • Collect tooling info from global Volvo factories, coordinate with Tooling and equipment engineers to document and store the virtual CAD data into GTR. [Global tooling Repository].

Essential requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automobile & Industrial Engineering
  • Experience or strong interest in CAD and virtual manufacturing tools
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a drive for continuous improvement
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of ergonomics and assembly simulation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, PowerPoint) and Power BI
  • Familiarity with PTC Windchill Creo View, Industrial Path Solutions (IPS), or IC.IDO
