Job description

Responsibilities

  • As a BID Engineer, you will design optimized composite structures which can be robustly manufactured. Mainly working as part of multi-functional project teams across the value chain, you will be involved in
  • Detailed complete design and Design for Manufacturing (DfM) for given Blade projects
  • Detailed part design and Design for Manufacturing (DfM) for all parts
  • Understanding of lighting system, ballast, web locators. modeling of infusion in- and outlets, pipes, aiding materials, lay-up tolerance analysis and interference check, bond line modeling, etc
  • Assembly and finish models, part weight & balance, nesting
  • Design Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Understanding of Engineering Drawings and improve it for any change
  • Creation of engineering changes via the Engineering Change Management (ECM) system (Windchill)
  • Interacting closely with the blade structural design, process, tooling, and manufacturing engineers to ensure commonality across the value chain
  • Following the first blade builds in our prototype factory in Lem, DK and direct any changes that result from build through the ECM system in close collaboration with the team

Qualifications

  • M.E./M.Tech. in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering, with 8-10 years of working experience in a similar field. Good with experience in Design for Manufacturing (DFM)
  • You have knowledge of composite manufacturing and process development for composite materials
  • You have experience handling the transition from drawing-based-design into model-based-design
  • Good to have similar experience in developing a material database including manufacturing properties in modeling tools
  • Knowledge in Pro-E and CATIA.

Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge of Structural Mechanics is essential
  • Broad Knowledge in Engineering Basics
  • Flexible and comfortable both in the office and in manufacturing. During the first blade build, there will be a need for a high physical presence at the shop floor to support the build and resolve any issues of the blade builds
  • Systematic and problem solving-oriented
