Main Job Purpose

The Production Shift Executive ensures uniform application of standard procedures across the factory, evaluates production quality and effectiveness, and oversees in-and-out logistics. The role focuses on ensuring timely material availability and product dispatch. The Executive collaborates closely with the Factory Manager to meet operational priorities, oversees quality, manages engineering tasks, and coaches Chargehands on general management practices, all while upholding Key Performance Indicators.


Key Responsibilities

  • UMS Philosophy: Enforces productivity improvement with a strong focus on waste reduction and cost management.
  • Technical Skills: Maintains working knowledge of OMIR (Operate, Maintain, Improve, Repair) to support equipment management and team facilitation.
  • Mechanics: Understands mechanics (cams, slides, bearings) and performs changeovers, repairs, and adjustments.
  • Pneumatics: Fault finds and repairs basic pneumatic issues.
  • Electrical: Executes basic tasks like Lock Out/Tag Out, isolation, and sensor testing.
  • Safety & Environment: Promotes a safe work environment and enforces procedures to reduce waste and manage hazardous materials.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensures all Quality protocols protect brand reputation and product quality.
  • Leadership: Builds an effective team, communicates goals, and leads by example.
  • Administration: Manages rosters, training, payroll, and compliance in collaboration with Line Leaders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Applies Zero Loss and Cost Deployment to minimize production losses, using KPIs to drive improvements.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves issues using tools that prevent recurrence.
  • Digital Initiatives: Supports and integrates digital advancements within the factory.
  • Production Output: Monitors performance against production targets to meet functional goals.
  • Business Awareness: Understands the influence of marketing and innovation in adapting to market demands.

Other Responsibilities: May be assigned to lead initiatives on Diversity, Waste Reduction, or Quality Protection within the Sourcing Unit.


Qualifications

  • Professional Qualifications: B-Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • School-level Qualifications: Competence in reading, writing, and mathematics to support reporting, problem-solving, and calculations.

Experience

  • Essential:
  • Core Engineering Skills: Minimum of 3 years in mechanical or electrical maintenance.
  • Strong background in manufacturing with leadership and team-building skills for a World-Class Manufacturing site.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience in FMCG manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and participation in project management teams.
