Role Overview

The Design Engineer will focus on developing subsystems with innovative, futuristic technologies, particularly for Electronic Control Units (ECUs). This includes work on enclosures, vehicle integration, thermal modeling, heat sink design, and weight optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Requirement Gathering: Understand customer usage patterns, benchmarking, regulatory needs, and mobility challenges to define system requirements.
• Design Development:
  • Use engineering principles to create part/assembly/sub-system designs.
  • Develop 3D models for conceptualization and packaging solutions.
• Patent Processes: Check for patent infringements, secure FTOs, and file new patents.
• Optimization: Enhance design using mathematical models, FEA, CFD, MBD simulations, DFMEA, FTA, and DFx tools.
• Prototyping & Testing:
  • Create 2D drawings with GD&T for prototypes.
  • Conduct part/vehicle testing and resolve any test failures.
• Collaboration:
  • Prepare SRS and work with suppliers/partners for development.
  • Maintain BOM to track progress, costs, and design iterations.
• Validation: Ensure designs meet requirements and integrate into new or existing product development.

Qualifications

• Education: BE/BTech/MTech in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
