Roles & Responsibilities:
As part of a cost-out team, major responsibility will include looking for cost out opportunities to build a pipeline, developing design concepts, and supporting with building cost-out standard works in the capacity of a Mechanical Engineer
- Decipher requirements and technical specification documents. Seeks clarification where needed.
- Identify the cost-out design opportunities in the products assigned through guidance & mentorship
- Applies self-learning to derive component functioning
- Build various design concepts, Ability to run basic calculations to prove design & trade analysis under mentorship, and support complete component selection to meet the technical specifications.
- Ability to build design documents based on reviews and designer input. Understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Independently perform alternative component search and basic design calculations.
- Aware & can navigate through design and simulation tools. Learns different tools and intent with hands-on experience
- Support in design documentation & artifact presentation as per process.
- Fairly conversant/capable of learning tools used to support design analysis and simulation.
- Open to learning new things
Skills and Proficiencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 0-2 years of experience
- Excellent understanding of Mechanical Engineering Principles (Structural, Theory of machines and Heat transfer)
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, attention to detail, responsibility, and out of box thinking
