ABOUT THE BUSINESS UNIT

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for conducting dynamic response analysis/simulation of aircraft model, multi-body dynamics simulation of rigid, flexible aircraft landing gears, door mechanisms, etc. The candidate is expected to carry out necessary pre- and postprocessing of numerical data, interpretation of the results, and compare and validate the results with established norms (such as FAR / EASA standards). He / She will Interact with local and off-shore peers on a daily basis and will present/discuss the simulation results as well as document the analysis for certification purposes.
An individual should be passionate about structural dynamics, aero-elasticity, and aircraft design areas and should be a self-starter with minimal supervision. This role is an individual contributor in the Technical domain and is expected to mentor junior engineers and should possess multiple technical skills to support cross-functional teams as and when necessary.
An individual should be exceptional communication skills and interpersonal savvy. Willingness to learn new areas depending on the organizational needs is a must.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and Validate multi-body dynamic models of landing gear / other mechanisms
- Build & Validate Structural dynamic models of aircraft
- Conduct dynamic analysis for aircraft during various stages of the design cycle and within the project schedule
- Document / Present the results to peers in a timely manner
- Develop scripts for pre- and post-process large amounts of data (Python language preferred)
- Troubleshooting any numerical issues by way of engineering analysis
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of vibrations, dynamic analysis, and computational modeling, and simulation
- Knowledge of rigid/flexible modeling in multi-body dynamics
- Knowledge of structural model development, natural frequency (modal) analysis
- Basic understanding of aero-elasticity, unsteady aerodynamics
- Scripting knowledge to perform data analysis
- Finite Element Knowledge is essential, preferably in NASTRAN
- Pre and Post Processing experience using FEMAP or HyperWorks is preferred
- Knowledge of relevant FAR standards for aircraft is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to ‘think outside the box

Master’s or higher degree in Mechanical / Aerospace Engineering with specialization in Structural Dynamics preferred.
