Job description

TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They will work closely with New Product Development organization, Quality and Operations to improve End to End Dimensional Metrology Value Stream.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to support the Geometrical and Dimensional Metrology of New products (First Article Inspection, Post Tool Correction Dimensional Validation, PPAP Measurement Reports etc.) and contribute towards deliverables adhering to the process and continuously evaluating the scope of improvement.
• Responsible for performance, efficiency and effectiveness of the team. Reviewing the same with the help of KPIs, submitting reports and implementation of necessary corrective actions in consultation with the management.
• Effective resource management and workload distribution considering forecast, employee leave plans, peak load situation etc.
• Regular interactions to understand measurement requirements from internal customers (Product Engineers / Mold Engineers) as per 2D/3D drawings and CAD Models, and effectively translating them into measurement programs in a Metrology Software.
• Responsible for defining objectives, reviewing employee performance and development regularly and providing necessary feedback & support for meeting defined objectives.
• Assessing the skill level of the team members against the requirement and preparing necessary training plans to bridge the gap.
• Guiding the team in case of technical ambiguities in the field of part measurement and validation in terms of GD&T – ASME/ISO GPS.
• Adherence to the process and ceaseless effort in reviewing the existing process to bring in Continuous improvements.
• Work directly with our customers and suppliers to ensure quality standards are met
• Work closely with Human resources and management to recruit new talent: assign, direct and evaluate their work

Education/Knowledge

• BE/ BTech (Mechanical/Mechatronics) / Diploma in Mechanical with lead role experience.
• Knowledge of Product Validation Process (APQP, PPAP).
• Knowledge of various Techniques and Software used for Dimensional Inspection of Molded and Stamped Parts.
• Knowledge of international standards and codes (ASME, ISO) related to product measurement and validation.

Critical Experience

• Overall 7+ years of experience in the areas of Metrology/Quality Assurance, in Manufacturing Industries is preferable.
• Thorough knowledge of GD&T concept and experience with its application in product design and validation.
• Experience in 3D Metrology software Volume Graphics for analysis of Computed Tomography Scan Data. Additionally, knowledge of Laser/Light scanning and the software GOM, Polyworks, Geomagic is preferable
• Hands on experience working with Computed Tomography Scanning Machine will be an added advantage
• Basic working knowledge of CREO Modeling Software
• Technical capabilities: Expert functional/domain knowledge.
• Good knowledge of trends and technologies in Dimensional Metrology domain.

• Excellent technical communication skills.
• Fluent in English
