Job description

  • Perform engineering activities for new product development from ideation, design conceptualization till product launch.
  • Effectively facilitate the transfer of new product introduction (NPI) into high volume manufacturing.
  • Apply engineering best practices to reduce cost and sustain exiting products to meet customer’s cost targets.
  • Collaborate with global engineering & product management teams to achieve product quality and cost objectives.
  • Develop design validation & product verification plan.
  • Prototype development and product testing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical) with manufacturing industry background a must.
  • Experience in various phases of product development and product realization with problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience in design for manufacturing (DFM), design for cost (DFC), design for manufacturing (DFM).
  • Experience in design tools such as 3D Computer-Aided Design (CAD) modeling, Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing (GD&T), tolerance stack-up analysis & Pugh Matrix.
  • Experience in reverse engineering processes
  • Experience in mechanical simulation (FEA) tools will be a plus.
  • Knowledge in various manufacturing processes such as molding, machining, forging, etc
  • Knowledge in the product design of plastic/rubber components.
  • Knowledge in quality tools (DFMEA, 6sigma, DoE, 8D, etc) will be a plus.
  • Basic knowledge in metrology measurements.
  • 7+ years of experience in new product development and maintenance.
  • Proven ability to execute on engineering deliverables.
  • Strong customer service mindset and mentality of delivering quality products and services on time and within company cost and profitability objectives.
  • Fluent communication skills facilitating collaboration with own team, customers, internal business leaders, and technology leaders to create value.
  • Individual must be self-motivated and require minimum supervision, have strong planning skills and be able to deal with and balance multiple competing priorities
