Job description
TE Connectivity’s Operations Managers are responsible for the day-to-day operations and short/long-term planning for the groups they manage. They manage manufacturing, production control, engineering, inventory control, EH&S, shipping/receiving, etc., focusing on the development of technologies and continuous improvement, and translating customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes.
Responsibility:
- To perform manufacturing duties to the best of your ability, maintaining quality and efficiency standards.
- Responsible for manpower planning, allocation, leave management and training, and appraisals of team members in the line as per self self-managed team concept
- Responsible for production planning, material planning, and allocation of resources as per the shift schedule.
- Coordination with the project management team, planning, and procurement team to meet the delivery schedule.
- Carrying out the wire & cable harness process as per COP/IPC/Standard Procedure.
- Demonstrate care and attention to assemble the company products from component level to final build stage, as per the instructions.
- Maintain current product quality and make recommendations, deriving alternate process methods to improve quality/productivity.
- Continue to increase productivity levels to meet company targets, whilst maintaining quality standards
- Responsible for improving labour efficiency of the line through lean tools practices.
- Drive Continuous Improvement Initiatives like Kaizens and other improvement projects in line.
- Responsible for maintaining 5S and updating autonomous maintenance records and production records as per set frequency.
- Have awareness of the chemicals used in the assembly lines. Understand & follow the EHS requirement.
- Responsible for ensuring a safe working environment and the usage of PPE in the line.
- Support analyzing and reducing Defects, Customer complaints, and Line NCs
- Continue to increase knowledge of all company products through job rotation.
- Develop knowledge of company quality policies and procedures
- Responsible for providing first-cut analysis on customer complaints and being a part of the 8D problem-solving team.
- To take additional responsibility as a pilot to drive the SMT concept in the line.
- Lead the team by example and demonstrate the best practices on the line.
- Responsible for SAP confirmations and presenting improvements made in the line to the management.
- To take initiatives and to coordinate with the customer during onsite work.
- To drive eQCPC, LPA, BBS, BBQ, and QCO in the line.
Desired Candidate Profile:
EDUCATION /KNOWLEDGE/COMPETENCIES
- BE/ B.Tech (Electronics, Electrical/ Mechanical)
- Minimum two years of experience in the manufacturing and assembly of harnesses
- Good communication skills
- Strong Presentation skills
- Organising and Time management skills
