Job description

The Context / Purpose of the Job

Responsible for the design and engineering of the equipment used in the Coke, Sinter, Iron and Raw material area. Releasing manufacturing drawings for steel plant equipment in RM and CSI area.

Job Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

Create design and detail engineering in line with company procedures, regulations, standards etc.
Layout preparation of machines and components.
Design calculation of machines like Coke oven equipment (SCP, CTC, CGT, QL, QC), By-product plant, cast house equipment, etc.
Prepare technical specifications for bought-out items. Prepare technical evaluation report and vendor drawing approval.
Prepare 3D models and 2D drawings in PTC Creo / Inventor.
Checking of SAP/PLM bill of material.
Checking and releasing of manufacturing drawings of equipment and it’s components.
Collaborate and communicate with different departments like manufacturing, procurement, projects, inspection and quality etc.
Prepare and record documents as per ISO procedures.
Incorporate customer feedback and learnings while developing the new machines
Ensure error-free drawing release incorporating all GD&T.
Technical discussion with customers for development and clarifications.

Skills

Technical Competencies:

Knowledge of machine design, strength of material, and metallurgy.
Basic knowledge of iron-making processes.
Manufacturing processes like fabrication, welding, machining, heat treatment etc.
Knowledge of the selection of materials based on the application.
Different codes and standards like IS, BS, DIN, ASME, etc.
3D modeling in Creo/ Inventor and 2D detailing.
Knowledge of Autocad 2020
Good understanding of product life cycle management (PLM windchill)
